Category: In The Community

The founders and recruiters of Newhouse + Noblin are active members in their respective communities, neighborhoods, schools, and churches. As a firm, we have a commitment to volunteer or make a monetary donation every month to a cause we care about. Whether it is making 500 sandwiches for the Soup Mobile in Dallas or collecting books for Houston school children, we feel it is important to share our resources. Some of the amazing charitable organizations that we have the privilege of supporting are highlighted below.

NextGen Class II 2020

Newhouse + Noblin’s Houston office was thrilled to launch the second class of its Next Gen Legal Leaders program this week.  An impressive group of 12 attorneys from industries ranging from food to oil and gas joined us for a presentation by Rosa Maria Villagomez of Mountaintop Consulting on curating your personal brand.  We are thrilled to work with this group through quarterly events throughout 2020.  We know they are destined for bright futures and hope to equip them with some additional tools for their success!

If you have questions about the Next Gen Legal Leaders program, please feel free to reach out to Alicia Hinds (ahinds@nnlegalsearch.com) or Beth Walker (bwalker@nnlegalsearch.com).

NEXT-GEN LEGAL LEADERS OF HOUSTON – Class II

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Newhouse + Noblin’s Next-Gen Legal Leaders of Houston program is designed for those individuals viewed by their peers and supervisors as being on the cusp of senior leadership positions. In particular, our class members are either at the Assistant/Associate General Counsel level and/or have 10+ years of legal experience. The goal of the program is to arm the next generation of Houston’s legal leaders with the skills to find and excel in positions of authority as part of in-house legal departments.

The program is a one-year commitment with an event each quarter. Events focus on the importance of a peer network, business basics for lawyers, a business leader’s expectations for their lawyers, and leadership principles.

REQUIREMENTS

Class members must commit to attend all four events. Each event will last approximately two hours. A full schedule will be provided with the application.

IMPORTANT DATES

October 1, 2019—November 15, 2019:           Nominations accepted

Houston Next-Gen Legal Leaders

We were so excited to continue our Next-Gen Legal Leaders series in Houston last week! Our Q2 event focused on business basics for lawyers. Special thanks to our presenters Jessica Seff of Statesman Business Advisors and our general counsel presenter, Nicole Moss.

Houston In-House Roundtable

Our Houston office hosted a roundtable breakfast discussion on March 20 geared towards junior and mid-level attorneys who are considering a path towards in-house legal leadership.  The discussion centered around the experience and wisdom of three impressive leaders:  Dave Cooke (ARM Energy), Fermeen Fazal (Universal Pegasus International), and Veronica Foley (Precision Drilling).  Thank you to our leaders for sharing their advice and guidance and to our attendees for their thoughtful discussion and enthusiasm!

Next-Gen Legal Leaders of Houston

We were thrilled to officially launch the inaugural class of the Newhouse + Noblin’s Next-Gen Legal Leaders of Houston last week.

We have an amazing cohort of thirteen in-house attorneys who are certain to continue to achieve amazing things in their careers.  Our year long program offers a formal four-part series on important topics to help ensure success at the senior leadership level, as well as informal events to build networks and make connections throughout the year.

The kickoff was a breakfast focused on peer networking.  A special thanks goes to our fabulous presenters, Precious Owodunni and Rosa Maria Villagomez from Mountaintop Consulting!  And to our class members:  we can’t wait to spend this year working with you and watching all your future successes!

I have worked with the team at Newhouse + Noblin for years and they have filled multiple searches within my legal department. They are professional, responsive and effective, targeting the right candidates and making the search process a smooth one. I recommend them without hesitation.
