Medical Bridges

This month our Houston team worked with Medical Bridges, sorting medical supplies to be distributed to locations in need of medical assistance around the world.  Medical Bridges recovers medical surplus that would otherwise be discarded and redistributes it to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers in less fortunate countries with the goal of bridging the gap in care.  For more information about how you can get involved, click here

VNA Meals on Wheels

In November 2013, Newhouse + Noblin’s Dallas team drove delivery routes for Meals on Wheels.  All around us are seniors in desperate need of nutritious meals and human contact. VNA volunteers and staff work through the Meals on Wheels program to serve qualified homebound seniors and disabled adults, helping them remain in their homes with dignity and independence.

VNA’s Meals on Wheels provides nutritious, freshly prepared, hot meals to Dallas County residents who can’t provide for themselves due to illness, advanced age or disability.  To learn how you can volunteer for this vital community service, click here.

Newhouse + Noblin Supports SoupMobile

In October, Newhouse + Noblin’s Dallas team prepared and delivered over 500 snack packs to the SoupMobile.  SoupMobile is a Dallas based charity that not only strives to feed the area’s homeless with food, but to also “feed” them with love, caring, compassion and shelter. We have been privileged to help in this cause many times over the past two years, and thanks to the efforts of the SoupMobile and its volunteers, over 200,000 meals were provided last year to Dallas’ homeless.

Star of Hope

In August our Houston team donated back-to-school supplies to Star of Hope.  The school supplies were distributed to homeless children at Star of Hope’s annual “Back-to-School Back Pack Party.”  For more information about Star of Hope’s programs and ways to help, please click here.

BEAR Graduation

In June our Houston team supported the BEAR Graduation Celebration.  The mission of BEAR is to “Be a Resource for CPS Kids.”  The program honors youth in the Preparation for Adult Living Program who are aging out of the Foster Care System. To learn more about how you can help this caring mission, click here.

Kids’ Meals

In April 2013, Newhouse + Noblin’s Houston team partnered with Kids’ Meals, a group that prepares and delivers healthy lunches to over 1,700 hungry pre-school aged children living in poverty in the Houston area.  Kids’ Meals bridges the gap for 1-5 year old kids who are too old for services from organizations such as WIC and not yet old enough to receive free breakfast and lunch in school.  To learn more about Kids’ Meals and how you can help, click here.

Heroes for Children

Last month, Newhouse + Noblin made a donation to Heroes for Children, which focuses on relieving some of the strain and stress on families who have a child diagnosed with cancer.  Whether it is to pay a medical bill, buy gas for frequent hospital trips, or to keep a family from having its electricity turned off, HFC is there to help.  HFC’s enables a family to focus on the most important part of treatment–the child.  To learn more about HFC and how you can help, click here.

Interfaith Housing Coalition

In December 2012, Newhouse + Noblin procured and donated needed supplies to the Interfaith Housing Coalition. Interfaith Housing Coalition was founded in 1985 to provide transitional housing and support services to homeless families. Through the years, a broad coalition of individuals, foundations, churches, and service groups have joined the ministry, effectively leveraging volunteer, in-kind and financial resources throughout the community.

Houston Bar Association AIDS Outreach Committee

In December our Houston team partnered with the HBA AIDS Outreach Committee and provided Christmas gifts for a local family affected by AIDS.  For more information on how you can help with the HBA’s community programs, click here.

Houston Bar Association Book Drive

In November our Houston team partnered with the Houston Bar Association for the 18th Annual HBA Book Drive. We collected book donations from several in-house teams and, together with those groups, facilitated the donation of over 20 boxes of books! The books will be donated to several literacy programs around Houston.  Special thanks to Stibbs & Co., Sysco, Cooper Industries, Schlumberger and Linn Energy.

When my team has an important position to fill, I call Newhouse + Noblin. I trust them to understand the substantive experience and cultural fit required and I know they will be a credible and professional liaison for Sabre/Travelocity in the marketplace. They take the time to really understand the type of person we need. Newhouse Noblin does an excellent job of communicating exactly how they will approach a search, what we can expect, and then delivering results.
