For April 2015, Newhouse + Noblin made a donation to New Friends New Life. New Friends New Life is a faith-based organization that assists women in overcoming backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty, and limited opportunities by providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance and spiritual support.
In March, Newhouse + Noblin donated to the March of Dimes “March for Babies.” When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to nearly half a million babies born too soon each year. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. March of Dimes started this event in 1970 and have raised an incredible $2.3 billion to benefit all babies. To sign up to walk or make a donation, Click Here.
In December, Newhouse + Noblin’s Dallas, Houston and Austin offices joined forces to partner with Community Partners of Dallas for the organization’s annual Toy Drive. We sorted and organized donated items for delivery to local children in need. The project was possible because of Peacock Alley’s donation of warehouse space again this year. Peacock Alley hosted the project volunteers and donated trucks and labor to ensure toys were delivered to children throughout the metroplex. In October, N+N made a donation to Camp Summit, a premier camp for children and adults with disabilities. The mission of Camp Summit is to provide barrier-free outdoor experiences that promote personal growth and foster independence for children and adults with disabilities. Claire Hetherington Darr of our Dallas office sits on the Camp’s Board and has witnessed firsthand the meaningful impact the Camp has on its campers and their families. In August, we too were nominated for the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge”, and we responded with a donation to the ALS Association (Chaired by Barbara Newhouse, but no known relation to Russell). Several of our team members (including Russell Newhouse pictured) completed the challenge. If you are reading this, consider yourself nominated!
