Kids’ Meals

In April 2013, Newhouse + Noblin’s Houston team partnered with Kids’ Meals, a group that prepares and delivers healthy lunches to over 1,700 hungry pre-school aged children living in poverty in the Houston area. Kids’ Meals bridges the gap for 1-5 year old kids who are too old for services from organizations such as WIC and not yet old enough to receive free breakfast and lunch in school. Houston Bar Association Book Drive

In November our Houston team partnered with the Houston Bar Association for the 18th Annual HBA Book Drive. We collected book donations from several in-house teams and, together with those groups, facilitated the donation of over 20 boxes of books! The books will be donated to several literacy programs around Houston. Special thanks to Stibbs & Co., Sysco, Cooper Industries, Schlumberger and Linn Energy.

Yes Prep

This month our Houston team spent a day volunteering with Yes Prep students through the Yes Prep Professionals program. This program offers professionals an opportunity to get involved with Yes Prep students and the community in projects across Houston. At Yes Prep Public Schools, 80% of students come from low income neighborhoods. YES stands for “Youth Engaged in Service” and prepares students for college success by providing real-world experiences and teaching them about the value of community service. Ronald McDonald House

For its April service project, Newhouse + Noblin provided lunch to families staying in the Ronald McDonald House (“RMH”) locations in Dallas and Houston. Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. Even worse, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by for love and support. The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. All RMHs are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest. RMH relies on volunteers to provide meals to its occupants, so Newhouse + Noblin gladly purchased the supplies and its Dallas and Houston recruiter teams spent a fun morning preparing lunch and then serving approximately 100 family members at RMH. Supporting RMH is such a rewarding and fun experience. Click here to learn how you can help too.

We were in search for an additional counsel role for our legal team and selected Newhouse + Noblin due to their previous successes in the industry. From the initial call with Russell, we felt we were in good hands. We have used other firms previously, but I can honestly say that Kristin and her team were the most successful agency we partnered with in this space. They provided us valuable insight and guidance throughout the search process and fully understood our definition of success with this role. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and key knack for finding and presenting top tier candidates make them an ideal partner. I highly recommend their services and look forward to working with them again.
